Lost a job?
If you have lost your job, whether it be for a poor job performance, frequent tardies, or just 'downsized', there are some important things to remember. Among them is to remember that YOU are not your job. You are a person - a dad or mom or teen or grandparent etc who used to earn a living by doing your job. It takes a little extra thought and practice to NOT say, "I am a plumber or architect or whatever" when asked, "What do you do?"
I challenge you NOT to answer with an occupation when asked, "What do you do?" Try answering something like this; I do volunteer work, coach a ball team, plant carrots in my yard, have fun training my dog, and I like to work with my tools in the garage and make things. (Of course, your answer should be true!) You get the picture. YOU are not an occupation.
Let me know how this works for you!!
